Double Hit Lymphoma Mimicking B Cell Precursor Phenotype Burkitt Lymphoma/Leukemia in an Elderly

چکیده
Background: The differential diagnosis of Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia (BL) and the double or triple hit lymphomas remains often problematic in terms immunophenotyping association with MYC gene analysis. In past, BL-like B-cell malignancy precursor phenotype (BCP-ALL) was described. Case Report: We report here an 84-year-old male massive ascites without superficial lymphadenopathy. Abdominal paracentesis revealed chylous (non-bloody) consisting mostly abnormal blasts showing CD20-negative BCP phenotype. However, molecular study indicated no MYC/IGH, but probable involvements MYC/IGL BCL6/IGH translocations, which were confirmed by FISH studies. patient diagnosed as lymphoma mimicking BCP-ALL.

A Case Report of a Metastatic Primary Gastric Lymphoma; Diffuse Large B-Cell or Burkitt Lymphoma?
Introduction: Primary gastric lymphoma (PGL) is a rare tumor, whose differential diagnosis may become complicated without precise immunohistochemistry (IHC) and genetic analysis. Case Presentation: A 33-year-old woman presented with gastric cancer and had undergone gastrectomy without precise IHC and staging in another center. Inappropriate IHC after surgery showed diffuse large B-cell lymphom...

In many B-cell lymphomas, chromosomal translocations are biologic and diagnostic hallmarks of disease. An intriguing subset is formed by the so-called double- hit (DH) lymphomas that are defined by a chromosomal breakpoint affecting the MYC/8q24 locus in combination with another recurrent breakpoint, mainly a t(14;18)(q32;q21) involving BCL2. Recently, these lymphomas have received increased at...
متن کاملBurkitt lymphoma versus diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Burkitt Lymphoma (BL) is listed in the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of lymphoid tumours as an 'aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma', characterized by a high degree of proliferation of the malignant cells and deregulation of the c-MYC gene. The main diagnostic challenge in BL is to distinguish it from diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). While in children BL and DLBCL ty...
متن کاملDouble-Hit Lymphoma - ARare Subset of Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma with Poor Outcome.
Double-hit lymphoma (DHL) has been identified as a subset of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with poor clinical outcomes. It is because of genetic translocation of C-myc and Bcl2 gene that make it more aggressive and un-responsive to conventional and salvage treatments. DHLis an extremely rare entity of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) having no established incidence data so far. In literature very l...
